So many new features in this release! Given that I've only ever used Godot for Game Jams, I feel like there's still so much more for me to learn

The jam An interesting way to start the year: For 2023, Ludum Dare decided to add a 3rd game jam to the year (they used to only have two a year), so this past weekend was the the 52nd LUDUM DARE game jam. This is my 4th time participating in the Ludum Dare game jams! Previously: Ludum Dare 48, Ludum Dare 50, Ludum Dare 51 This jam started 4am (!!) local time on Saturday January 7th. Same as before, I chose to participate in the "Compo", the more challenging version, with a 48-hour time limit and restriction that you can

The jam This past weekend I participated in the 51st LUDUM DARE game jam. This is my third time participating in Ludum Dare and 5rd game jam overall. I was looking forward to this one because I failed my last game jam attempt and was hoping to get back into the groove. Previously: LD50, LD48 The jam started 6am local time on Saturday April 2nd. Same as before, I chose to participate in the "Compo", the more challenging version, with a 48-hour time limit and restriction that you can only work solo and all assets must be created within the

I signed up for this year's GMTK Game Jam, a 48-hour game jam which was held last weekend. I joined this game jam last year as well. My entry there finished in the top 800 overall (out of 5000+ entries), which I felt was pretty good for a solo dev with minimal gamedev experience. So I was hoping to be able to complete the same jam this year and maybe even rank a little higher? Unfortunately as you can tell by the title of this post, I failed to complete and/or submit an entry for this jam. It feels weird

The jam This past weekend I participated in the 50th LUDUM DARE game jam. This is my second time participating in Ludum Dare and 3rd game jam overall. My last attempt was Ludum Dare 48 last year. I had to skip Ludum Dare 49 due to a hospital stay, so I was looking forward to this one. The jam started 9am local time on Saturday April 2nd. Same as before, I chose to participate in the "Compo", the more challenging version, with a 48-hour time limit and restriction that you can only work solo and all assets must be created

The jam A thing I did last weekend was to participate in the 2021 GMTK Game Jam. This is my second game jam, after my Ludum Dare 48 entry back in April. I was a lot more anxious about this one, especially after rewatching the video of the winners from the last year. This post is mostly about how the game jam unfolded for me. If you just want to view the game I made here's the link. The theme for the jam was "JOINED TOGETHER". The theme was announced 2am Saturday my time here, but I had stuff to

The jam A thing I did last weekend was to participate in the 48th LUDUM DARE game jam. Doing gamedev has been a long-time elusive dream of mine, all the way back to my college years. I've had a number of failed attempts to get into gamedev, both solo and with other people.I've also played around with things like PyGame, Unity, DragonRuby, etc. I read about the LD48 game jam this April and signed up to participate. My expectations weren't very high and I was anxious going on; I was pretty sure I was not going to do well and
