Wow. To those who think we can't do big things: we beat Big Tobacco. https://twitter.com/reuters/status/803880018313179137

Posted on r/Philippines: Many times it's a struggle between (a) trying to reach out to and understand people who hold different views; and (b) holding back because you don't feel like you can have a productive conversation with such people, especially online. How can we breach the divide?
Edit: By "breach the divide", I don't really mean persuading others that you are correct, more like trying to find common ground and to learn from each other. At the very least we should be able to agree on certain things like the need to verify information and not simply believe everything we read on the internet or to be respectful to others that hold different opinions, but it seems many people aren't even open to that. It's just frustrating sometimes.

So pissed off. Someone on my feeds posted "I bet konti lang magra-rally kung di binayaran ng P500 yang mga yan. hehe" /glare
Kelangan talaga ng self-control sometimes to avoid commenting when people you know post stupid things on social media

I rarely do the passive-aggressive status updates, but I'm just so pissed off. If you don't believe in what people are fighting for today, fine, whatever, you have a right to remain ignorant. But maybe consider just shutting up instead of insinuating people are being paid off when you don't know anything. Mahiya ka naman sa mga tao who would be willing to fight for your rights even when you're one of those people who doesn't give a damn. To all my friends who are going to the rallies today, take care and stay safe and keep fighting. I am with you in spirit.

@econcepcion a bit of a stretch, but if we use our "creative imagination" he might mean that kasama sila sa victims if dumami yung druggies

“The human rights (defenders) said I ordered the killings. I told them ‘OK. Let’s stop. We’ll let them (drug users) multiply so that when it’s harvest time, more people will die,” the President said at the inaugural switch-on of a coal-fired power plant. “I will include you because you are the reason why their numbers swell,” he said in Filipino.

Ok, even if we use our creative imagination and assume he just means HR defenders will be among the victims when drug users multiply, the above still betrays his thinking that "no killings = drug users will multiply" and that killings are the only way to stop them from proliferating. Do you agree, mga ka-DDS?

Might be a good idea to try to learn lessons from history, instead of trying to revise it.
